Meet Dr. Phillip Abbott
Dr. Abbott has been serving dental patients in the Bartow, Florida area for more than 28 years. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Marquette University in Wisconsin, where he graduated in the top ten percent of his class. He then completed a year of advanced training in a general practice residency program with the Veteran’s Administration Hospital system.
To provide the highest level of dentistry to his patients, Dr. Abbott remains committed to refining his knowledge and skills. He has completed training and was awarded fellowship status in the International Dental Implant Association. In addition, he completed advanced training in microscope enhanced endodontic (root canal) therapy and is one of only a handful of dentists in Polk County to utilize microscopes for both root canal therapy and general dental procedures.
Dr. Abbott was born in Wisconsin but now calls Lakeland home. He has been actively involved in many Polk County community organizations, including Lighthouse Ministries, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine, where he was awarded the Dentist Volunteer of the Year Award in 2014. He has also served in several international dental mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Guatemala.
He and his wife Lynette have four daughters. He is active in his church, the Rock Community Church, and enjoys tennis, water skiing and snow skiing.
